THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM 1988 02 25 REPORT TO: B.R. Kirk, City Administrator FROM: K. To hire a consultant to determine the life of Centennial Pool. 26 That the consultant do conceptual design drawings and costing for the upgrading of the change rooms and staff area, if the life of the pool is three years or more. 3. That the upset fee for the consultant be no more than $7,000 and that this be taken out of the 1988 Parks & Recreation Department capital budget. Background & Comments: Centennial pool is now thirty years old and there are certain areas that need upgrading. A few years ago the filtration system was upgraded. Presently the fencing around the pool needs to be replaced and the change and staff area are deteriorating and require some major upgrading. As Couneil Members are aware, Wwe have also received a request from the PoCo Marlins to look into a possible upgrading. However, before contemplating the various retro-fits, it is absolutely essential that a consultant be hired to determine the life expectancy of the pool. If the pool will last a minimum of three years it would be appropriate to have conceptual drawings and costing done for the change areas and the staff area. _ ) a } —o Y / ao ve? ae o— EN { | 4 . ‘ K.
