THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM NOV 8 1982 TO: B. Kirk, November 3, 1982 City Administrator FROM: F.E. Peters., P. Eng., City Engineer . SUBJECT: Parking along Kelly Avenue ~ . Public Works Committee, November 2nd, 1982. “RECOMMENDATION: That parking be allowed on the south side of Kelly Avenue from 10 meters east of the entrance to the Works Yard to Kingsway Avenue. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: Parking restrictions now exist on both sides of Kelly Avenue between Mary Hill Road and Kingsway. Avenue. These were implemented in order to make it easier for Public Works vehicles to enter and leave the Works Yards. Because of the removal of parking in the Ree Center lot. since the Court House was constructed, space for Works Yard employee parking has been restricted. There is parking in the lane west of the Works Yard but some of the vehicles at the south end of the lane have ‘been vandalized and some employees are reluctant to park their vehicles so far out of sight. The Superintendent of Public Works indicates that it is. not necessary to have both sides of the street restricted to parking except near. the entrance to the Works Yard. The Committee therefore recommends that some parking be allowed on Kelly Avenue on the south side, east of the entrance. This would provide an alternate parking location for some of the employees.
