THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM | C ¢ Ly | C | [ MEMORANDUM JUN 16 1980 TO: ‘Mayor and Council June 12th, 1980 FROM: Planning & Zoning Committee Re: R#11-80 SUBJECT: LEGAL DESCRIPTION: 4 BACKGROUND: . RECOMMENDATION: Application to rezone 2275 and 2311 Shaughnessy Street from RS-1 to RM~4. Lot 1 - 4 and 29 - 30, Block 15, District Lot 174 and 289, Plan 2080. The proposed rezoning is to permit the a@evelopment of a 36-unit apartment project. Council will recall that a similar project of only 21 units on a proposed site of four 33-foot lots was presented to Council in October 1979. , The Planning Department at that time was concerned about the exclusion of 2275 Shaughnessy Street from the project as 2275 Shaughnessy Street by itself may not be viable as a development site. As a result, the Planning Department further negotiated with the developer to explore the possibility of including 2275 Shaughnessy for a larger project. Through very lengthy negotiation with the owner of 2275 Shaughnessy, the developer has finally acquired this property. The developer is now proposing a modified project based on a site encom- passing the previous site and 2275 Shaughnessy. The Planning and Zoning Committee recommends that the rezoning be advanced to Public Hearing. L. Lée, | City Planner.
