CONFIDENTIAL — POLICING REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 1979 _ TO THE MAYOR OF PORT COQUITLAM MAJOR CRIME: Port Coquitlam was free of major crime during September. GENERAL ACTIVITY: The north side business area and G.V.R.D. residential complex there are ongoing problems from juvenile crime, wilful damage and liquor infractions. Our Zone 3 members and our Youth Detail are expending a lot of time on this problem area, with some measure of success. Liquor outlets are being closely monitored by our members, to the point that they are well controlled and the staff of these outlets ‘are living up-to their responsibilities. Curtailing minors from obtaining liquor is the first step in cutting down on complaints - of vandalism, theft and breaking and entering. TRAFFIC: Enforcement in schcol and playground areas since school resumed has resulted in numerous charges. . , “ - CRIME PREVENTION: The new curriculum program is fully underway, and has been well received by school staff, our own members and the students. Members of out Youth Detail have been concentrating on the north side area, particularly on potential youthful offenders and runaways.
