The West Coast with its natural beauty and
rugecdmess has strongly influenced my work.
This combined with my love af the Japanese
aesthelic and more specifically, the traditional
woodfired stoneware of the many ceramic
regions of Japan, has insgared me to endeay-
our to emulate the wonderful mch earthiness
of Bizen ware. These pieces not only have a
quiet strength and beauty, but alsa call to be
held and used. They, like many things in life,
only pet betier with age and use.
