ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The AGM is scheduled for Friday, April
30, 199 at 19200 7:00pm). It will be beld
at the Carousel Theatre on Granville Is-
land, 1411 Cartwright Street. Following
the business part of the necting, Les and
Maureen Beardsley will present a video
and slide show of the Tozan Kiln, located
on the Malaspina College grounds in
Nanaimo, BC, The video is about the
butkting of the Tozan Kiln when Yukio
Yamamoto was visiting from Japan, and
Ihe slides capture some of the recenttinings
and works. Wine aml cheese will be served.

This is my final preshow article on the subject of Made ef Clay event. We
expect a great show, which we are certain will be an artistic triumph as well
as a financial success for both the artists and the Guild.

We require a great many volunteers to realize our full potemtial, Just because
you haven't been contacted doesn’: mean that your services aren't required,
We all benefit from a strong and successful Guild, 30 please make the
commitment,

Now, having said that, you've heard the last of me, [ will provide you witha
post-mortem on the spring show in the summer issue af the newsletter. That
15 because we are almast certainly going to have a fall show,

Wedo not have a signed rental agreement yet but we do have verval agreement
just short of a binding contract. The site will be the Performance Centre atthe
Roundhouse on the former Expo grounds. The dates are Friday, November 19
through Sunday, November 21. We will have one day prior for set-up. We
anticipate rental rates to extubitors will be comparable to Granville Island;
more particulars will be announced in the summer issuc. Registration cates
will be mid-to-late July. This is a great opportunity for members of the Guild

and we expect to be oversubscribed!

GUILD NEWS

At the time of writing this article, it is not
yet known ifthe reviewed annual financial
statements for the year ending December
S198 wall be available for mailing to the
membership in advance of the AGM. Iris
the board's intention that all current mem-
bers receive the Annual Report, reviewed
financial statements, minutes of last year's
AGM, and the agenda pnor to the AGM.
