Nouvelles des APE / APE News ENGLISH VERSION It’s anew school year at Anne-Hébert! Back-to- school went very well despite a few hitches due to the late (but welcome) addition of a new teacher, prompting a redistribution of classes in mid-September. The arrival of new students over the summer brings the school population to 315, allowing no fewer than 14 sections. The APE elected its new executive during the September 23 general assembly. There’s been a major renewal following the departure of several parents of graduates last June, and we are pleased to welcome all of our new parent members. We will continue to make the school a dynamic, welcoming community by organizing celebrations, such as Halloween and Christmas parties—always a big hit with parents and children alike. We will also continue to encourage training for parents; for example, special aid for anglophone parents, drug prevention seminars, etc. This year, we will also offer after-school daycare. This project began during the summer and can accommodate up to 30 children. Lastly, one of our biggest projects at this time is to upgrade email services to send documents to parents and improve communications among the school, the APE and parents.
