The last is the main project; $1.2 million of this loan authorization is allocated to it. The balance of its $2.0 million cost is the remainder of the previous loan authorization. However this Park serves a region-wide clientele, and is the single major day use park in the northeast sector of GVRD. Projects in 1994 are all within the 1994 Provisional Budget, i.e. that is there will be no increase over the Provisional Budget if these proceed; if they don't, spending will be reduced. Other parks such as Capilano, Lynn Headwaters and several Fraser Valley sites do not have rnajor projects proposed because of their existing base of facilities, the nature of the park landscapes and the fact that we have been able to use our annual appropriation for small scale projects and capital replacement to do work in both sites, supplemented by many job creation prograrns and grants. _ bar The last point it may be useful to mention is that the program of park development has been reduced below the 1989 projections by one third to two thirds in the above Sites. This is partly a result of land or other issues that have delayed development and partly from a Board decision to reduce development expenditure in preference to Purchase of critical park lands such as the Widgeon Marsh purchase in early 1992, Yours truly, R.A.
