APPENDIX 1

PROPOSED TEXT AMENDMENTS
TO OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN
BYLAW #2848

The following is a list of recommended amendments to the Official
Community Plan to reflect input received at the Public Hearing:

1. Section 2.0. Amend point d. to read:

"d. To balance opportunities for development with .the
protection of highly-productive agricultural lands, and
with the protection of ecologically significant lands."

(Note: Current policy ends after words “Agricultural Lands").
Section 3.2 and Section 7.3.4. Amend Policy 13 to read:

"Policy 13: That prior to any disturbance of the Colony Farm
lands, the City will require a detailed
environmental assessment of the area to identify
and suggest means to minimize potential impacts
on local and migratory wildlife and fish, and on
Plant communities."

(Note: Current policy refers to "vegetation" rather than "Plant
Communities").

Section 3.10 and Section 15.3

Insert the following new Policy 10 and re-number the existing Policy
10 as Policy 11:

"Policy 10: That the City work co-operatively with Provincial
Government agencies, C.P. Rail, Coquitlam Indian
Reserve #2, and adjacent municipalities to
develop an integrated bicycle transportation
network."

(Note: This policy was deleted from an earlier draft due to a word
processing error).

b. Insert the following new Policy 12:

"Policy 12: That the City work co-operatively with
appropriate authorities to facilitate the
implementation of a commuter rail system."

(Note: This policy was deleted from an earlier draft due to a word
processing error).

Section 7.3.4. Amend sentences 2 and 3 to read:

"Tt serves important wildlife functions and is within the
unprotected 200-year flocdplain of the Fraser and Coquitlam
Rivers. Some development within Colony Farm may be possible,
but the degree and location of potential development are iieM
critical to sustaining existing wildlife populations,

wildlife habitat, existing plant communities and ripariaéy
vegetation along the Coquitlam River."
