Kirk, City Administrator Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director SUBJECT: Roof Tender - Hyde Creek Gym & Lounge (Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Decernber 17, 1992) Recommendation 1, It is recommended that Marine Roofing Ltd. be awarded the contract in the arnount of $91,237.00 to re-roof the gym and lounge at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre. . 2 Monies for this project will be initially taken from the Building Maintenance Reserve Fund. Background & Comments: As you will note from the report, from the Recreation Manager/Deputy Director, we have experienced major problems with leakage at Hyde Creek Centre. A Consultant was retained to evaluate the kind of roof required and to review the tender documents. A special building maintenance fund has been set up and Committee is recommending that initially the monies be taken from this account. When funding is secured, for Hyde Creek renovations, consideration should be given to reimnbursing the Building Maintenance Reserve Fund. The rationale behind this is that the roof should have been renovated with the Hyde Creek expansion There is sufficient funds in the Building Maintenance Reserve Fund. rad ey Ot.
