3. Mrs. Kennedy is right in this observation. To remedy such a situation, it is proposed that the definition of light industrial be extended by adding after the sentence “use of any other land", the words “designated for residential use in Port Coquitlam Official Community Plan". This amendment is suppported by our solicitors. CONCLUSION: Mrs. Kennedy comments are very valuable in that it allows the Municipality to improve on the definition of light industrial and to double check the proposed amettdments to light industrial to be even more certain that they are appropriate and will achieve the result of building up the permitted uses in the M-3 zone while effectively protecting surrounding residential uses.
