Recommendation

| That City Council accept in principle the concept of the
i Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile. .

Background & Comments

The Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile is named after Sri Chinmoy who has .
dedicated his life to sports and the effort for world peace. The
first Canadian Peace Mile was inaugurated in Victoria, B.C. in 1986

A further report will be brought forth to Council at a later date
outlining the location for the one mile for world peace. Earlier
this year the peace runners came through Port Coquitlam as part of a

world-wide relay race. Attached to this report is more detailed
information on the peace mile.
