V3C 2A2 ATTENTION: Mr. Dear Sir; At the time the G.V.R.D. began its' research into taxi cab lic— encing and regulation this Association had five member companies from within the region. Currently we represent twelve taxi companies in the Lower Mainland. Within the next several days we will be consulting with the Motor Carrier Commission in regards to the removal of Municipal Boundary Restrictions which remain at the very core of the issues. In order for change in the licencing and regulation environment to be meaningful, i:put from the industry is vital, and must be con- sidered. For that purpose we look forward to discussions with the G.V.R.D. Administration and local licencing departments. We ask that local councils not consider this matter until this process has taken place, which could be accomplished, we feel, with- in 30 days. W.
