Alderman Mabbett expressed the opinion that additional information was not necessary in view of the past experiences and problems with City-sponsored dances and the troublesome youth from other areas attracted to such functions. Alderman Ranger stated that although he supported the idea of teen dances generally, and was impressed with the applicant's submission, he was concerned with the problems that may arise outside the establishment and would appreciate the comments of R.C.M.P. Inspector Galbraith prior to granting approval of the licence. Alderman Keryluk expressed the opinion that the Disco would provide a service to the youth of the City and would further supplement the City's recreation programmes for youth. Mayor Campbell advised that Alderman Thompson, who was absent due to transportation difficulties, was opposed to the establishment of the Disco on the basis of the anticipated problems outside of the premises due to its proximity to other licenced establishments in the downtown area and the Mayor indicated his concurrence with this view.
