Fraser Valley Regional Library 1994 Budget

The thought behind the recommendations is that we only have so much funding available
and the increases outlined above will not permit additional funding for expansion of
service or the increase of optional programs into the budget.

The recommendation to not open on long weekend Saturdays is based upon two things,
firstly, the customers are used to finding the branches closed on these days and secondly,
as mentioned further increased funding for optional increased services is unavailable.

Approval of the recommendations would result in our levy decreasing by $10,400 to end
up 7.5% above last years total levy, 3.8% above last years once growth is factored in.

Attached are copies of selected pages from the FVRL.’s budget package. Gordon Ray,
Executive Director of the FVRL will be in attendance to answer any questions regarding
their proposed budget.
