Masters won $600 for runnerup. _ Third-prize money of $400 went to the tournament organiz- ers — All Seasons Expose. They lost 7-6 to Campers in the ‘A’ side final. The Masters gained a final -berth the hard way. They were bounced to ‘B’ side on a 4-0 loss ‘to Campers in ‘the ‘A’ semi- final: Then they posted three straight wins over Houston F & N’s, Coors and All Seasons to earn another shot at the ‘Big Bob’ winners - Campers. ‘ Bight of the 16 teams dropped _toaconsolation round following round-robin play. -Houston Deans picked:up $175 by winn- ing all three of their games to take top spot. Burns Lake’s Nordic Ford took second Place after losing 16- 5 to Deans in the final. The Lakers won 125. for their effort. Terrace Bluebacks excel -in Panhandle meet | According to Terrace Blue- backs’ swim coach Shelly Mor- gan, Prince Rupert’s recent _ season-ending ‘Panhandle’ meet was an exciting end to the 89/90 year. _ It featured regular club mem- bers from Rupert, Terrace, - Kitimat, Ketchikan and Masset (and that’s the order in which they finished), It also featured _ several area masters swimmers, _among whom were Chris Lind- - seth, Mary Bowering and Sonya - Kupka of Terrace. _ All the masters came up with good performances and surpass- ed their previous expectations. Highlights of the meet would have to be Cory Holland’s super-fast free swims. He broke his own previously set provincial record in these events. Cory’s times were 26.67 in the 50-free and 58.19 in the 100-free.
