. DEAR ABBY: About 20 yeara ago, in a very distraught
emotional state, I wrote to you concerning my involvement
with a young woman. [ waa on the verge of suicide and your

. advice and support saved my life... _ ’
_ So genuinely concerned were you that you kept me
advised as to where to reach you during a Southern tour you

T were taking at the time.

Much has happened since then, and I want to bring, you
_. up-to-date: Recently I wrote a book (my firat), titled “Night
Stalks the Mansion.” It became a best-seller. It’s now in its
4th printing — approaching the million mark in sales!

_ traumatic time, 1 would not be alive taday, my hook would
“never Have been written, and my reasonably rewarding life’
would not have lasted as long as it has (I am 74).
As a result of the book, the above-mentioned lady (no
longer young) found me again. She saw me on television
and wrote ta tell me she had often tried to locate me, Shehad
never married; she has burned a candle for me every year on
my birthday! * . oo

part than you know have been greatly enriched by your
kindness and counsel. :

for writing. Your letter made my day, my month, my

DEAR ABBY: I was told that you once had a letter froma

_ grown man who wanted to sue his parents for having had

him circumcised when he was an infant. He claimed that he

was maimed and permanently disfigured for no reason at

all, as he wasn’t even Jewish. What was your advice and
how did it turn out? I am considering the same action.

The other night they ‘had another married couple in for -

legg away, and then she stretched her legs hke they were
rubber and very determinedly trapped his lega with hera!

I refuse to be in that woman's company again. [ never told
my daughter why | dislike this woman 80 much, so she
thinks I'm wrong to have auch hate for her friend.

Should I tell my daughter? Her husband knows I saw the
whole thing, but he says nothing.

What should | do?

DEAR SEES: Don’t carry tales to your daughter. If
the woman with the rubber legs stretches things too
far, your daughter will eventually become aware of it
and resolve the matter in her own way.
