SUBJECT: Clean Indoor Air

RECOMMENDATION:

That tne Environmental Protection Committee, in cooperation with
rhe Simon Fraser Health Unit, be directed to consider the
desirability and the form and content of a Clean Indoor Air and
Smoking Regulation Bylaw for the City of Port Coquitiam.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

Bylaws to ensure the cieanliness of indoor air ~ chiefly Through
anti-smoking regulations - have now been adopted or are. being
considered by a number of Sritish Columbia municipalities. At
my request the Clerk has obtained bylaws and other information
on +he subject from the Township of Richmond, District of West
Vancouver, District of Coquitlam, and the Capital Regiona!
District. lf the above noted resolution is endorsed by Council!
