Early last Fall Alderman Ranger and myself met with a group o
residents on Western Drive in the 1600 block area. The probiems are speeding
up and down Western Drive and the heavy lane traffic South of Thea.

We agreed to look into some type of highway speed bumps, which
Mr. Borch did. However, there has always been objection to speed bumps; so
nothing has transpired. We also had a talk te the 8.C.M.P. and they put a
little closer surveillance on the area. The residents are still concerned.

I would recommend that serious consideration be given to speed 4
bumps similar to ones investigated by the City Engineer.

On the lane situation - some residents requested a closure of
said lane approximately one-half way along. llowever, several people protested
so decision was not to close lane.

I would recommend this lane be well posted to regulation lane

speed as it is used as more than just an access to local properties.
