August 23rd, 1982 A special meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on August 23rd, 1982 at 4:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.D. Gates, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, A.K. Muidoon, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer B-R. Kirk, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., Assistant City Engineer T. Chong, P. Eng., Director of Community Planning W. Brown, and Recording Secretary D. Vyse. From the Parks and Recreation Committee and the Public Works Committee, August 19th, 1982 regarding the replacement of the Heating/ Air Conditioning Unit - Mabbett Room. Parks & Rec Comm. & Pub Moved by Alderman Wright: Wks. Comm., Aug-19/82 Seconded by Alderman Lakina: re Htg/Air Cond. Unit That the City Council authorize the purchase of a 25 ton -Mabbett Rm heating/air conditioning system from A & A Air at a total cost of $37,977.00, including insulating supply ducts; That the funds be taken from cost savings in other areas; That a structural engineer be hired to examine the roof structure at an approximate cost of $2,500.00; That structural reinforcement of the coof, if found necessary be approved at a cost not to exceed $7,500.00; That an application be made to the British Columbia Lotteries Branch for assistance to cover 1/3 of the cost including any structural alterations required; AND THAT permission be requested from the Minister of Municipal Affairs to use the City's Park Development Reserve Fund to cover the total cost of the project. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution the City Administrator advised a grant application will be made to the British Columbia Lotteries Branch and it was noted that the City Engineer stated in his report that when the 1/3 B.C.
