SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR PLACEMENT OF "NO Post" BARRTER ~ 1498 PITT RIVER ROAD
(Public Works Committee Meeting, November 20, 1990)

Recommendations:

1. That Council approve the installation of 2.2 metres of "No Post”
concrete barriers along the sidewalk on the southern boulevard
adjacent to 1498 Pitt River Road, at an estimated cost of $950.00;
and

That Council allocate $950.00 from the Public Works Capital Fund
for this purpose.

Background & Comments:

The Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Project Technician
regarding a request from the owner of 1498 Pitt River Road to place a barrier
adjacent to his property on Columbia Aveaue to prevent damage to his property
from vehicles. The Comittee felt that there was a potential for injury and
damage on the property from vehicles which roll off or drive off the road at
this location. A proper barrier would prevent this type of accident.
