August 28, 1989/177 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, August 28, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy Administrator R.A, Freeman, City Engineer T.M. Chong, P.Eng., and Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Laking: seconded by Alderman Farnworth: That the minutes of the Zoning Public Hearing and the Regular Council meeting held on August 14th, 1989 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS: The City's Safety & Training Officer and Emergency Co-ordinator, Mr. DoJ. Wicklund introduced Mr. Dave Cattanach of B.C. Hydro and Mr. Frank Clegg of the Provincial Emergency Program and a short presentation was made requesting Council support and participation in a proposed emergency exercise involving a simulated dam collapse at the toe of Coquitlam Lake during the earlier part of 1990. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That the proposal for the City of Port Coquitlam to participate in a proposed emergency exercise in 1990 involving a simulated dam collapse at the toe of Coquitlam Lake be approved. Carried, BYLAWS : Moved by Alderman Gates: seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the "Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw, 1987, No. 2240, Amendment Bylaw, 1989, 2423" be reconsidered finally passed and adopted.
