October 17th, 1977 /1l1.

That letters be sent to clubs and organizations in the City asking
that they discuss the City's May Day celebrations at an early meeting
and appoint a representative to attend a meeting to be held at the City
Hall in the near future to consider the future of May Day and appoint

a May Day Committee and elect a chairman.

Carried.
Alderman Traboulay voted against the resolution.
Before passage of the resolution a discussion ensued and Alderman
Ranger advised he felt the people present at the meeting of October

12th, 1977 were not prepared to set up a Committee.

Alderman Ranger advised new signs have been put up along Hyde Creek

and along Cedar Ditch advising people not to interfere with salmon and
also explaining the salmon's life cycle.

Aldermen Keryluk, Laking and Mabbett advised they will be seeking
re-election in the coming election.

Alderman Mabbett asked the City Administrator the explain what had
been done with regards to the damage claims from people involved on
Fooley Avenue when the water main broke and the City Administrator
advised he had been in touch with the people and they would be getting
back to him with the necessary information.

Alderman Traboulay expressed concern about the northbound traffic
situation on Shaughnessy Street (formerly Chester Street) as when someone
stops to turn right at Centennial Pool, traffic backs up behind and
Alderman Mabbett advised Council the Public Works Committee will be
looking into this situation at the meeting Thursday morning, October
20th, 1977.

Mayor Campbell advised he had pamphlets from the School Board on
School Trustee elections, assistance guides if anyone is interested they

can obtain them from the School Board.
