From the City Administrator, September 27th, 1974, recalling to the City Adm.re Hosp.Society attention of the Council that in January of this year a request to ~Budget short~fall provide a share of an estimated $3,000.00 short-fall in the operating budget for 1974 of the Coquitlam and District Hospital Society was approved based on sharing with Port Moody, Coquitlam and Electoral Area B; however, the other component areus did not approve their share of costs. The City Administrator, in his report, advised that both the Minister of Health and the Greater Vancouver Regional District declined to assist in meeting this budget short-fall and the Hospital Society is, therefore, in a position where they will be unable to meet their administrative costs without some other source of revenue. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the City of Port Coquitlam request the City of Port Moody, the District of Coquitlam and Electoral Area B to share in the estimated $3,000.00 short-fall of the Coquitlam & District Hospital Society's 1974 operating budget on the same basis as the Simon Fraser Health Unit cost- sharing formula. Withdrawn. Mayor Campbell stated his view that the other component areas would not share in the $3,000.00 short-fall, and that he thought Port Coquitlam has always been the strongest backer of the Hospital Society.
