Prior to consideration of this matter taking place His Worship the Mayor advised that he had a. personal in-. terest in this matter as several members of his immediate family lived adja~ cent to the property in question and he therefore wished te vacate the Chair and called upon the Acting-Mayor, Alderman Mabbett, te take charge of the | Mayor Scott vacates Chair & meeting. In presenting a resolution to adopt the report of the Committee (secon- ded by Alderman traboulay and later withdrawn) Alderman Ranger stated that approval of the request would lead to the establishment of a very attractive - establishment that would d generally upgrade the area. Alderman taki ing refer- red to the need for a review of the zoning plans for that area due to the forthcoming closure at the C.P.R. mainline of the Lougheed Highway due to its relocation and Alderman Mabbett stated his opinion that the zoning of the entire block should be looked at in this light. Alderman Ranger agreed _ that with this thought in mind the application could be referred back to the Planning & Zoning Committee for further consideration.
