INTERMUNICIPAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COMMITTEE

District of Coquitlam City of Port Coquitlam

K.
Director of Pollution Control, XX
Pollution Control Branch,

Parliament Buildings,

Victoria, B.C.

Dear Sir, 4 \

Re: ‘Application by Evergreen Trailer Court,
Barnett Highway, District of Coquitlam,
for Discharge Permit to Scott Creek.

It is understood by the Committee that the above mentioned
application proposes to upgrade and legitimize an existing domestic sewage
discharge and that no expansion of trailer court facilities is made possible
upon the receipt by the applicant of a discharge permit.

The Committee feels the+ because both the District of
Coquitlam and the City of Port Coquitlam are participating in the sewage
trunkline and sewage treatment facilities to be completed by the Greater
Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District by 1974-5, the principle of
licensing new sewage outfalls from small developments is undesirable and
in the medium to long term unnecessary. Therefore the Committee strongly
recommends that you consider placing a definite term to the conditions of
the license applied for, should you decide to approve the application. We
would suggest a term coinciding with the completion of the Sreater Vancouver
Sewerage and Drainage District Treatment Plant at Annacis Island.

Respectfully submitted,

Corp. of the District of Coquitlam Corp,-of the City of Port Coquitlam
