Swimmers set records Ten and under swim- mers from Terrace, Kitimat and Prince Rupert splashed their . way to 24 pool records in the Mighty Tyke swim meet held at the Terrace Pool on the April 12 weekend. | Jocelyn Coxford of the local Bluebacks Club set the pace with six new marks in the girls’ 7 and § age group. Coxford set records in the 100 meter individual medley, the 50 freestyle, 25 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 50 butterfly, and 100 freestyle. Teammate Dano Baker in the boys’ 7 and 8 age group came through with a four- record performance. Baker set marks in the 50 free, 100 back, 50 back and 100 breastroke. Another Terrace swimmer with three records was Bobby Peacock in the 9 and 10 age group. Peacock cracked the 200 in- dividual medley, 100 fly, and 100 free. Prince Rupert’s Brent Thompsett had three new marks for 7 and 8 boys in the 100 I-M, 50 fly and 100 free. Double record- breakers were Kitimat’s Dayna Nelson in the girls’ 9 and 10 age group for 200 I-M and 100 free, and Aimee Peacock of Terrace in the 7 and 8 girls’ age group for 50 breast and 100 breast. Another Terrace swimmer — Kelly Pearce, had a record for 100 fly in the 9 and 10 age group. Terrace girl’s team cracked two relay records for 7 and 8 year olds. They set records in the four-by-25 meter freestyle relay and four- by-25 meter medley relay. And Prince Rupert’s 7 and 8 boy’s team cracked the mark & for the four by-25 medley relay.
