THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM OPEN QUESTION PERIOD AT CONCLUSION OF RIGULAR COUNCIL MECTINGS GUIDELINES The Open Question Perjod will commence after the adjournment of the regular Council meeting. A waximum time of 20 minutes for questions from the press and public will be permitted; subject to curtailment of at the discretion of the Chair if other business necessitates. Questions directly relating to businegs discussed during the Councti meeting are preferred. Others may be allowed at the discretion of the Chair. Questions may be asked of any Council member of staff. Questions must be truly questions and not statements of opinions or policy by the questioner, Not more than three questions per questioner will be allowed. Questions from each member of the attending press will be allowed preference prior to proceeding tu the public; the press being namely a representative of the Herald, the Columbian, the Enterprise, the Forum or others. The Chair will recognize the questioner and will direct questions to the Alderman or staff member whom he feels is best able to reply ~ providing that the question has nct already been directed to an individual by the questioner. More than one Alderman or staff member may reply if he feels he has something to contribute. The recording secretary will not be required to remain through this period. Those who notify the Clerk in advance will be allowed to address the Council to a maximum of 3 minutes. The Open Question Period will not be held during the months of November and December.
