Lee Theatre Oct. 16 beginning at 7:30 p.m. to answer questions from the public. B.C. Liberal Party candidate William Hayes, Skeena New Democratic Party incumbent Frank Howard, B.C, Social Credit Party nominee Dave Parker and Independent candidate Gordon Sebastian have confirmed their attendance at the all- candidates’ forum hosted by the Terrace Jaycees. The meeting will be divided into three segments: opening statements, a one-hour period for questions from the floor, and an opportunity for closing remarks from the candidates. Moderator for the meeting will be Terrace resident Andrew Lee, a past president of the Jaycees. ‘It is the hope of the Ter- race Junior Chamber Jaycees that the public will take advantage of this opportunity to come to the R.E.M. Residents angry TERRACE — A large number of local people who park their auto- mobiles on and around Greig Ave. viewed the downtown street with dismay and anger Friday morning. A_ knife- wielding vandal (or van- dals) had gone down the street. during the previous night, meth- odically slashing tires on nearly every vehicle parked between the Ter- race Curling Rink and the intersection at Kalum St. Few cars escaped damage, and on some all four tires were flattened. An inspection revealed the punctures to be in the sidewalls, leaving the in- sertion of a tube as the’ only possible method of repair. Staff Sgt. Jarvis of the Terrace RCMP stated that the first complaints were filed around 8:30 a.m. A report from Cst. Genge the following day indicated that a total of about 30 vehicles were affected in the destruc- tive binge, and Genge said that complaints were continuing to come in. RCMP believe that the acts occurred sometime between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Oct. 10.
