(COST: $2,000). This radio would be used to provide communications between the altemate Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), City crews and various outside agencies during an emergency. Without this piece of equipment, the City would not have a radio communications link at the altemate BOC. Three Portuble Packet Stations. (COST: $6,000). This equiprnent would be used to provide fast and accurate message and data transferal between the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and a variety of remote locations throughtout the City based on needs of the situation. Without this equipment information, transfer would be limited to voice radio communications greatly reducing the speed and could effect the accuracy of information received. This would also interfere with other critical radio communications reducing overall efficiency. eas ae a Tit A These items are essential to the Emergency Preparedness Program and we will be including these in the 1995 Emergency Preparedness Capital budget. We rede that Council approve the application to apply for the Federal Cost Sharing via the Federal Emergency Preparedness Program (JEPP). If approved, upon purchase of the equipment the City would be reimbursed up to 50% of the cost, resulting in up to a $7,000 savings.
