As Senator Edward Kennedy once said "Military spending does not appear to be a good way to stimulate employment. On the contrary, money spent on nunitions puts jobs in danger", And in the case of a nuclear war the problems which municipal councils would face boggle the imagination, Contrary to those who say that the neutron bomb would be useful in a “limited war", we believe that its use would lead to unlimited nuclear war which all responsible people wish to prevent, A growing number of Canadian City Councils have gone on record in opposition to the neutron bomb ~- among them are Vancouver City Council, Port Alberni City Council, Toronto City Council and Welland City Council. The following resolution was sent by the Toronto City Council; Vancouver's waS Similar... j ‘Whereas the Ntitron bomb represents a dangerous escalation of the nuclear ‘arms race; . oo, Whereas it cannot be justified by the argument that it destroys only living beings and not installations; Whereas international security must be preserved by agreed disarmament by all countries;
