RECOMMENDATION:

That the Director of Planning be authorized to attend the 1993 National
Conference of the Canadian Institute Of Planners to be held in Victoria,
British Columbia, on July 4-7, 1993.

DISCUSSION:

The annual conference of the Canadian Institute of Planners is a forum for
Canadian professional planners to exchange information and experience.
Regular attendance to the meeting is important to maintain and develop
professional skills, and to stay up to date..

Due to the level of activity and the needed reorganization of the
department, a representctive of the Planning Department has not been present
at the CIP National Conference since 1989.

The total cost of attending the conference is approximately $900.00.
Monies are available in the Planning Department budget.
