RECOMMENDATIONS:

1. That City Council approve the attached proposed Budget Calendar for our 1993
budget preparations. |

That City staff be instructed not to provide for any increases in the level of service as
provided in 1992.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
The proposed calendar will result in some changes from previous budgets in tha

budget discussions with Council will be held in open Council meetings with minutes
of same kept;

our capital improvement plan would be part of the same discussions;

As with the last few years, Council will be provided with a shopping lisi of requests for
additions to the existing levels of service, staff will not be building any increases into the

budget and will be expected to justify their existing budgets.
