A Co-ordinated Project Review Process, under FREMP, provides a review of proposed projects and activities in the Estuary. Initiated in 1986, this process has streamlined several government referral Systems that were already in existence, and has eliminated needless duplication and overlap between agencies. Now developers, industries and public agencies have clear guidelines to follow when seeking project approval and a Single "window" through which to submit their proposals. Consequently, this system is much more efficient than previous referral systems. One feature of the Review Process is the creation of a Central Project Registry, a filing system of all project applications in the Secretariat office at 708 Clarkson Street in New Westminster that is open to any person or organization. Since starting in 1986, the Review Process has handled over 300 project applications. FREMP Activity Programs are being prepared to deal with the following Estuary-wide issues: Port and Industrial Development Navigation and Dredging Habitat Management Waste Management Log Management
