Including the removal of three existing floodboxes modifications to two existing pump stations, Preparation of Specifications and Tender Documents for the Works.- The Work was subdivided into two Conracts, Contract 1 for floodboxes and Contract 2 for dykes and removal of the existing floodboxes (Figs. 1 and 2). Financial Responsibility ‘The Water Investigations Branch has advised us that the apportion- ment of financial responsibility shall be as follows: Capital costs incurred for constructing dykes and floodboxes shall be cost-shared on a 50 per cent - 50 per cent basis as established under the Federal-Provincial Agreement. The City of Port Coquitlam shall be held responsible for all costs resulting from the construction of pumphouse Sumps and Cedar Drive pump station. Two bids on Contract | shall be received from the Contractor, Alternative 'A' shall include floodboxes only, whereas 'B' shall include floodboxes, pumphouse sumps and Cedar Drive pump station. The difference between Alternatives 'A’ and 'B! then establishes the City of Port Coquitlam's financial responsibility. The pumphouse sumps and the Cedar Drive pump station are designed to Program Standards, hence, if interna] drainage is reconsidered as a viable component under the Fraser River Flood Contro] Program at a later date, the CIty would then be compensated for this Work.
