Alderman Traboulay introduced @ By-law to amend the "Traffic Regulation By-law, 1971, No. 1117", Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That By-law No. 1401 be read a first time. Carried. Alderman Thompson voted against the resolution. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution, Alderman Thompson advised he was opposed to Section 6 which provides that Clause (a) of Section 1 of Schedule "D" of the "Traffic Regulation By-law, 1971, No. 1117" be amended by inserting, after Sub~clause (iii) the following as Sub-clause (iv): "(iv) 5 miles per hour upon the lane situated east of Flint Street from Coquitlam Avenue to Suffolk Avenue." Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That By~law No. 1401 be read a second time. Carried. Alderman Thompson voted against the resolution. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Keryiuk: That By-law No. 1401 be read a third time. Carried, Alderman Thompson voted against the resolution, NEW BUSINESS: Alderman Keryluk referred to construction of a fence on Chester Street by Dawson Construction Ltd. alluded to at the last meeting by Alderman Laking, and he stated he had noted the fence is situated only about 6' off the paved shoulder of the road, which certainly restricts proper access to that portion of Chester Street, and the City Administrator advised he would request an opinion from the City's Solicitor on this matter. Mayor Campbell advised he had not yet contacted an official of the firm, but that he intended to do so shortly. Alderman Keryluk then stated he wished to announce publicly that he would be running for the position of Alderman at the November 15th, 1975 Municipal Election. Alderman Laking referred to the proposed purchase of property located at 1065 Lynwood Avenue for the City's Nature Area that failed to receive the support of a majority of the members of Council at the September 22nd, 1975, Council meeting, and his notice of motion to submit the matter for review at the next meeting was accepted by Mayor Campbell. /ll.
