The high level of competition | at provincials helps the team prepare for» next year. “If | had to go back a month from now, | could prepare where I felt we could improve.to maybe change the re- sults of the game.’ The McTerrace Ring Wraiths, the | . defending 2004 Tween C Provincial | Champions moved up to the B division .. playoffs in Surrey to end their season. -They balanced the event by winning two and losing two. ~ Nervousness defeated the team ‘in. their first game against Richmond. “They didn’t play the way they nor- mally do,” coach Allen Hampton said. “We missed passes and shots.” They beat northern rivals Prince " George and Delta to make up for the loss. « They were irritated beyond belief that they lost to Richmond so they came out strong after that,” Hampton said. . Inthe final round robin game, West- side, an Okanagan team, stood in their. way to the medal round. ‘Westside went up two goals before Terrace captain Alexa Grant scored” twice in 35 seconds to tie near the end of the first period. The team went up by two in‘the sec- ond and held on until the final five min- utes of the game. Westside scored again and sprung to life, doing their best to net another. ~ They found the twine again to Bo. up by two. Terrace tied and took a time out to. regroup. _ The final minute of play saw intense * play but Westside scored to win 7-5. Over.the summer, the players will keep in shape with soccer, baseball! and lacrosse, Hampton said. Some may travel to ringette camps.
