As an alderman Hallock said she was the Public Works Com- mittee chairman last year and a ‘member this year and has also been a member of the Recrea- tion Committee and the Finance Committee. She said she also represented the city on the Fami- ly Court Committee for two years, the Heritage and Museum Advisory Commission, the Ter- race Disabled Association and Community Services. .. Hallock said that she served as one of the Regional District city representatives for the past two years and in that capacity has served on the Regional Hospital District. She said she was also on the Building Project Committee for the extended care wing at Terraceview Lodge. Hallock said her main objec- tive is to “maintain an orderly and ongoing development and improvement of the community.” She. said she doesn’t have a specific goal. in mind, but she came into council on a ‘‘com- munication ticket?’ four years ago, and she feels she has sué- ceeded.on: that issue. She said that four years ago, ‘*There was great turmoil. There was tremendous polarization, and I felt that they needed a sort of cOmmon-sense approach to things, and I feel that I’ve suc- ceeded in that.” Incumbent Mo Takhar, self- employed, is also just complet- ing his second term as alderman. Takhar said he has served on several committees during that time.and is also a member of the Terrace Rotary Club. _ He said his main objective is to continue working for the bet- personnel and education.
