City Administrator SUBJECT:Emergency Planning Coordination (Intermunicipal Liaison Committee Meeting August 15, 1994) That City Council a sprove in principle the concept of a Northeast Sector Emergency Program as outlined in the attached report subject to the following: Further review of the proposed emergency program and budget and 7 implementation schedule by the Intermunicipal Liaison Committee with the objective of reducing start-up costs during the.first few years. OS Approval of the final budget for the proposed emergency program will follow . the City’s annual budget approval process. - | Priority be given to the development and implementation of the City’s own emergency plan. That both reports be referred to the City’s Protective Services Committee for further review and report. _ m . The City Administrators and Managers of the three Cities met during the past several months to _ "develop the concept of emergency planning coordination for the Northeast Sector. Although not " everyone was in full agreement with every aspect of the Program, consensus on most of the. outstanding issues were reached during a meeting held on August 4, 1994. A final report (copy attached) was then developed outlining the concept of a Northeast Sector Emergency Program. | The attached report was reviewed initially by the City’s own Intermunicipal Liaison Committee and subsequently by the Northeast Sector Intermunicipal Liaison Committee. — ; ae
