Eng., FILE: PWC City Engineer SUBJECT: PROPOSED PLAYGROUND ZONE SIGN - ELKS PARES/KELLY AVENUE (Public Works/Traffic Committee Meeting of October 8, 1993) RECOMMENDATION: That Council direct the City Clerk to amend the City Traffic Bylaw #1117 to include the designation of the 2200 Biock of Kelly Avenue in front of Elks Park as a playground zone so that traffic speed will be reduced te a maximum of 30 km/hr. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: The Public Works/Traffic Committee considered a request from Mr. Remo of 2241 Kelly Avenue for playground signs on Kelly Avenue in front of Elks Park. As there are children playing and pedestrians crossing in this area, it is recommended that the portion of Kelly Avenue in front of Elks Park as shown in the attached Plan 1 be designated as 2 playground zone to reduce traffic speed to 30 km/hr.
