SUBJECT: Submission - Coquitlam Campus for Douglas College
(Special Needs Committee Meeting - January 10/91)

Recommendation

a) That a letter be sent from the City of Port Coquitlam
requesting an extension of a submission date, in
regard to the new proposed Douglas College Campus in
Coquitlam.

That the Special Needs Committee be responsible for
preparing a submission with particular emphasis on a
barrier free campus.

Background & Comments:

An information memorandum was sent to Mayor & Council on January
10th, 1991 in regard to the new Coquitlam Campus for Douglas

College. The information attached to the memorandum requests
submissions, ideas and recommendations from the community. This
particular memorandum was brought to the January 10, 1991 Special
Needs Committee Meeting. In the Committee's opinion, they would like
to present a submission on behalf of Council to Douglas College. The
emphasis of the submission will be on a barrier free campus.

Attached is the request from Douglas College requesting submissions.
