Re: Burning Permits

Attached are two applications for Burning Permits for Council's consideration.
I thought that some comments on each would be in order.

1. indian Wells Development Ltd.

Indian Wells Development Ltd. purchased 18 lots in the Gavel
Development subdivision on Pooley and Taylor. Gavel previously removed
and burnt the trees and brush on the road allowances in this subdivision,
therefore this request is to dispose of brush on the individual lots
purchased by this firm.

2. PoCo Valiey Golf Club

The Golf Club periodically remove underbrush from the perimeter of
their Course and prior to the passage of the By~law were apparently in
the habit of piling this debris and then applying periodically for a
burning permit to dispose of it. I£ Council wish to consider approval
of such a request, perhaps it could be done on the basis of giving the
Fire Chief authority to issue a permit for a day's burning from time to
time during a fixed period, rather than for the blanket permit that
they have requested.
