“REMARKS:

The staff services of our Identification Branch, ve seen an increase in their
involvment at crime scenes within the District and City of Coquitlam. This invdvement
creates a good police image with the victims of crime, while discovering evidence to
assist in bringing the perpatrator to justice.

The Identification Branch Services are presently handicapped through an inadecuate
office area for fingerprint examinations of exhibits. A vented area with counter space and
;washing facilities is needed. The addition of municipal furniture to their office has
,improved the efficiency and appearance of the section.

The Fanily Division of the Provincial Court, working from the Justice Building,
‘has seen a considerable increase in cases presented for Hearing. The modern facilitics
‘for these hearings and interviews lends a more favourable atmosphere to family problems.

Recruitment to the Force is relatively heavy at the present time, and we are
‘pleased to find a large interest coming from the citizens in this Detachment area. We
received a good number of applications in answer to recruitment of specials for Airport
" Policing Requirements. This service did not restrict married applications. I feel that
this interest is consistent with our police-community relations programme.
