February lst, 1972 To: Mayor and Council ; 1 7 (PR . An meme nene y Rl ANE Membership in the Industrial Development , EB - 7 1972 Commission C Laekantemtendnateetandenbeakenterd ~~ % As instructed by Council, I have wiven serious consideration to the question ~ Should we continue to belong to the Industrial Development Commission? It would scen to my Committee that the Industrial Comnission has improved vastly in their role of promoting industry in the past three years. They greatly assist cities such as ours in advertising, planning, If possible, we should try and retain a member on the Executive, and possibly see that our Planning Technician be afforded the opportunity to attend some of the regular meetings. We require good, clean secondary industry in Port Coquitlam. We have large areas serviced and accessible. We must do everything to promote this development. Therefore, we recommend that membership in the Industrial Development Commission is imperative, so that we can continue to vecelve the benefits of their planning, advertising, and other types of professional assistance that is vital to our continued Industrial growth. Respectfully submitted, Alderman E.W. Mabbett, Chairman, and Alderman G.R. Laking ~ Industrial & ‘ Community Development Committee, Nore: See Oadamwac Lerrea OF REQUEST ATTACHED Stee. SESS City Coca
