he accomplished in his life
even though he was faced

“The Phone Call” is a
comical based on a story in
the Reader's Digest about a
young boy in high school who
wants toask a girl out on his
first date,

"The Mailbox” is a story
about a grandmother who
wants so bad to hear from
the family she raised and
loves, Many days ga by and
she recelyes no word from
her children but she con-
tinues to hope as she waite by
her mailbox,

All of these films are ex-
cellent family en-
tertainment. There will be no
admission fee charged.
Everyone is welcome to
attend, The senior citizen's
room in the arena has been
reserved for the showings,

woman in her front yard just

Everywhere you go and
everywhere you look
people are wondering
“What's Happening?”’

The weather has.
become almost  un-
predictable for the past
several seasons -- some
areas that are never
plagued with severe cold
weather have ex-
perienced cold weather in
severity the past two or
three winters. Other
areas have become
almost unbearably warm
during this same period of
time. As we step and
ponder these situations
we can consider the
geological and
meterological aspects
and come to a scientific
theory of the reasons for
these. unnatural ac-

curences.

However, I feel that if
we are to uncover the
turth concerning these
phenomena we must look
into the only source of

real truth, and that is the

word of God - the Bible.

As we delve into this
book of truth we learn
that as time comes closer
to that period ‘‘When time
shal] be no more” these
things will eccur with

mare and more
frequency. '
Earthquakes have

become almost common-
place in our world to-day
and yet they were rare
only 300 years ago. I feel
that these are “signs” of
what is really happening
in to-day's world,

Weare headed towarda
date with our Creator! He
said, thru his messenger
named Paul, that men
would be “Ever Jearaing
and never ableto come to
the knowledge of truth”.
This is happening right
now! We are an advanced
society. We have more
and higher technology
than was dreamed about
20-30 years ago, With our
“test tube babies we have
almost totally left God out
of our lives.

The Bible is clear and
concise in pronouncing
“woes" on nations and

ople that foxget God.
Pet's recognize the
problem we have brought
upon ourselves by leaving
Christ out and then let's
follow the steps that will
remedy the situation.

I know this willnot alter
God's ultimate plans in
the least but it will cause
those thet heed to know
that they are aware of
“What's happening” and
thus they will nol be left in
the dark. The steps to
follow are these:

1. Confess your sins --
Romans 3:23 (I John 1:9)

2. Repent of your sins --
Luke 13:3

3, Believe on Jesus
Christ and confess him to
others - Romans 10:9

4. Read God's ward
daily and pray.

These will cause you to
know “What's  hap-
pening’ and to be
prepared for whatever
occurs because of the
assurance in God's ward
that He will never leave
thee nor forsake thee but
will go with you all the
way even to the end of the
Age.

But within minutes of

her door, she knew

her offer of help had been a
mistake,

“She was crying and
talking all the time about
somebody,”’ Mrs. Harris
said. “I told her to sit down

-and suddenly she started

associating me with her aunt
or her mother.
“She got up and attacked

me.
"I don’t know what hap-
pened to the girl to make her

do this, except that she was
just staggering drunk.”

When Mrs. Harris broke
free and escaped through the
front door, the woman
picked up a large potted
plant and threw it on the
floor.

“She wasn't that big, not
much bigger than me. But
once she got really mad she
was strong.”

After going to neighbors to
call police, Mrs. Harris re-
turaed to her home.

Won't offer help again

“I looked in through the
window and she had dumped
over the china cabinet and
broken everything in it; she
had thrown quarts of milk on
the floor and smashed
almost every potted plant in
the house.”

She had also taken off her

By the time her husband
Clifford Harris came home
to the rescue, the woman had
passed out,

City police arrived shortly
after and arrested the young
woman,

The woman rampage
had taken her into one of the
bedrooms where. bureau
drawers had been pulled out
onto the floor and bedsheets
soiled,

Mrs. Harris's 87-year-old
mother managed to sleep
through the ruckus and
learned of the incident the
next morning.

“All those years of
collecting nice things and
they’re all gone,” she said.
“T think I’m stil] numb.”

The elderly woman was
most affected by the
smashing of 12 crystal
goblets given to her and her
husband by their children for
their 35th wedding anni-
versary,

One of the plates shattered
in the fall of the cabinet
dated back to the 18th cen-
tury, she said.

Mrs, Harris said Tuesday
morning was spent cleaning
most of thedirt, broken glass

Podiatrist Dr. Glenn
Cornwell said Wednesday as
many as half of his female
patients may have foot, knee
and back problema because
they wear high heels,

“People who wear high
heels are ruining their
skeletal systems,” Cornwell
said in an interview,

He said that as the heel
height is raised, the bedy's
centre of grav'ty is shifted
