SAFETY DIRECTOR PRAISES THE WESTERN CANADIAN LUMBER WORKER TIMBER PRODUCTS PLANT By ANDY SMITH Regional Safety Director I recently had the oppor- tunity of touring the Mill and Timber Products operation at 8818 Greenall, Burnaby. This is an operation employing 30 to 40 men, and produces vari- ous types of cedar siding. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the operation; the houskeeping within the plant itself was ex- tremely good, and while the a9 Te ~ fe , " d : = 1. OFFICE, MILL AND TIMBER PRODUCTS stock in the outside areas was rather crowded, it was well and safely stacked. This operation has an en- viable safety record that could be a goal to strive for in simi- lar operations. The lunch room was clean and well appointed, including sinks and a refrigerator. Photographs appearing on this page will give a general idea of the operation. Howe of HAIDA Grand 6t900 foes é ‘ 3 & 4.
