Baillie Fire Chief SUBJECT: BURNING PERMITS (PROTECTIVE SERVICES COMMITTEE FEBRUARY 9, 1994) COMMENDATION: Add Section D to Article 3.1.2 of Bylaw No. 2578 to read the following: The Fire Chief may issue a Burning Permit for Religious or Ceremonial purposes, with conditions pertaining thereto as Council sees fit. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: The city has a no outdoor burning policy, but still allows some groups to burn outdoors for special events and ceremonies. At present there is no provisions for this type of burning in the city Bylaws. With a change in the Bylaw, it will allow the Torchlight Parade, Boy Scouts, Girl Guide Campfires and similar ceremonies to continue with no bylaw infractions. Fire Chief .
