OPEN QUESTION PERIOD
AT_ CONCLUSION OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETINGS

GUIDELINES. ~ FEB 28 1983

The Open Question Period will commence after the adjournment of the regular
Council meeting.
A maximum time of 10 minutes for questions from the press and public will be

permitted; subject to curtailment at the discretion of the Chair if other

business necessitates.

only questions directly relating to business discussed during the Council
meeting are allowed. _ . .
Questions may be asked of any Council member.

Questions must be truly questions and not statements of opinions or policy
by the ‘questioner. _

Not more than. two separate subjects per questioner will be allowed.
Questions £rom each member of the attending press will be allowed preference
prior to proceeding to the public. . |

The Chair will recognize the questioner and will direct questions to ‘the:

Alderman whom he feels is best able to reply.

More than one Alderman may reply if he feels he has’ something ‘to contribute.

Note: The Open Question Period will not be held during a (6) six week period

immediately preceding the Annual Municipal Polling Day.

RECOMMENDATION :

That the above Guidelines for Open Question
Period be adopted.
