THE CORPORATION CF THE CITY Ge PORT COQUITLAM C 0 MEMORANDUM FEB 28 1983 TO: B. Kirk, February 24, 1983 City Administrator FROM: F.E. Peters., P. Eng. City Engineer SUBJECT: Parking Restrictions on McLean Avenue ~ . Public Works Committee, February 22nd, 1983 RECOMMENDATION: That the existing parking restrictions on the south side of McLean Avenue be eliminated between Brown Street and the west property line of 1750 McLean Avenue. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: The width of McLean Avenue between Brown Street -and 1750 McLean is sufficient to support parking on both sides. There is a shortage of parking for the businesses Fronting McLean Avenue. West of Brown Street the south side of McLean Avenue is marked for a pedestrian walkway and therefore parking is. undesirable. However, there is no significant pedestrian traffic east of Brown Street and therefore there is no reason why parking could not be allowed. As such parking will: benefit: : the merchants, we recommend that it be allowed. os : F.E. Peters., FEP/sqg City Engineer R43: 1 Te maene thinner Dg tat etn am nce NE ge ite RE caked Pde faetete tee
