TO: Mayor and Council October 9, 1980 FROM: Parks and Recreation Committee Re; Completion of Reeve Street Parking Lot With the opening of the new Reeve Street All-weather field, there will be a considerable demand for parking space in the vicinity. The original concept of the field included @ parking lot immediately adjacent to Reeve Street but the cost of this parking facility was not included in the cost for the field itself. The cost of constructing a parking lot with a capacity for about 40 vehicles to a gravel surface standard is estimated to be about 39,000. The Committee recommends that the construction of this parking lot beé approved with the cost to come from the ramainder of the unallocated Parks Fund and from the Parks Development Reserve. ‘There is about $3,000 left as unallocated and the Parks Reserve stands at an estimated $85,000 after all expenditures for the year have been taken care of, The Committee also ¥Yecommends that $6,000 be taken out of the Parks Deve Opment Reserve for clean up and landscaping é@round the new field and parking lot.
